Helion and wattss join forces for a reliable Swiss energy future

The strategic partnership combines Swiss implementation capability with European storage expertise – and relies on a system approach for an increasingly complex energy world.

Zuchwil/Frauenfeld, June 10, 2026 – Helion Energy AG and wattss AG are entering into a strategic partnership. Together, they aim to advance modern energy solutions in Switzerland, focusing on quality, reliability, and long-term impact.

The collaboration comes at a time when the energy and grid industry is facing fundamental changes. The electrification of mobility and heating is advancing, while decentralized power generation – particularly through photovoltaics – is growing. This increases the demands on grids, control systems, and flexibility. Official bodies and specialist sources point to an increasing need for adaptation in distribution and transmission grids, as well as the growing importance of flexibility to reduce peak loads and use grids more efficiently.

Against this backdrop, a system approach is gaining importance: the energy transition can no longer be managed with isolated individual technologies. Generation, storage, consumption, and mobility must interact intelligently so that the overall system functions economically, in a grid-supportive manner, and resiliently. The federal government describes sector coupling as the connection and control of different energy sectors; specialist articles and white papers identify it as key to security of supply, efficiency, and decarbonization.

Helion has stood for an integrated approach to energy supply in Switzerland for years. The company implements photovoltaic, storage, heating, and charging solutions from a single source and has been part of the AMAG Group since 2022, where energy and mobility are being deliberately developed further as a shared ecosystem.

wattss complements this approach with specialized expertise in battery energy storage and energy management. The company positions itself with storage solutions Made in Europe and the ambition to make energy supply safer, more efficient, and more independent.

This is precisely where the strategic logic of the partnership lies: Helion brings market proximity, implementation capability, and system integration; wattss deepens the joint offering with storage expertise and European technology orientation. Together, a connection emerges that meets the challenges of the new energy world with a clear focus on quality, reliability, and long-term value creation.

“wattss is an ideal complement to Helion: with strong storage expertise, European technology orientation, and a clear commitment to quality. For our customers, this means above all one thing: solutions that work reliably, are viable in the long term – and therefore future-proof – and can be flexibly developed further.” Samuel Beer, COO, Helion Energy AG

Culturally, too, the collaboration fits into the environment of the AMAG Group. AMAG sees itself as a Swiss family-owned company and emphasizes long-term thinking, quality, and reliability as part of its identity. This attitude also shapes the Energy & Mobility business area, where renewable energy, charging infrastructure, and electromobility are increasingly being considered in an integrated manner.

“Helion brings exactly the strength that is needed now: market proximity, implementation capability, and a genuine system approach for the energy transition.” Marco Rüegg, Group CEO, wattss AG

With their partnership, Helion and wattss are sending a clear signal: the future of energy emerges where strong competencies, shared values, and an intelligent system approach come together.
