On 2 and 3 April 2025, representatives from Pixii and specialist partners from Europe, as well as market and technology experts, met for this year’s Pixii Partner Meeting in Darmstadt. Two days full of exciting presentations, intensive discussions and tangible perspectives on the future of decentralized energy storage solutions – particularly for households, businesses and authorities.

The event was opened by a personal welcome from the Pixii team. Already the first substantive session provided a strategic overview: Morten Angelil, CEO of Eltek Holding, presented the development of the corporate group, at the heart of which Pixii stands as an innovatively growing technology company in the field of battery storage solutions. Pixii was not only named the fastest-growing tech company in Norway (Deloitte Fast 50, Gazelle Award), but also pursues clear goals in terms of sustainability, scalability and modularity.

Building on this, Daniel Fuchs from EuPD Research provided a well-founded market overview on energy storage in the European context. Particularly in focus: the increasing demand for off-grid storage solutions, regulatory support models and the role of battery storage in flexibility markets.

A central highlight was the presentation on the market launch of Pixii Home – the new modular home storage system, optimized for self-consumption, grid services and flexibility. Pixii Home was presented as a robust and fully integrated system designed from the ground up for use even in harsh climatic conditions (down to –40°C). With AC or hybrid version, PV compatibility, app control, cloud monitoring and much more, it is designed for households, small businesses and energy-autonomous projects.

The day concluded with an informal networking evening – an ideal opportunity for exchange between qualified specialist partners and manufacturers.

On the second day, concrete applications, technical innovations and practical examples took centre stage. The day opened with a live demonstration of the off-grid functions of Pixii Home. It impressively showed how island operation, black-start capability and flexible grid separation can be implemented in various installation scenarios. Concrete project examples such as a wastewater treatment plant in Austria and a 72-hour backup solution for a critical infrastructure station were also discussed – with clear statements on load management, grid return and automated switching.

A particularly practical contribution came from Marco Schmidt of Schnepf GmbH, who reported from project planning in the German market – including challenges with grid replacement systems, interfaces to smart meters and requirements for installation planning in large-scale systems.

Simon Steffgen from BVES Europe then highlighted the regulatory perspective – from Redispatch 3.0 to EU supply standards and current funding and standardization trends. This presentation underscored how important networked storage solutions are for the energy transition – both at household and distribution network level.

International input came from Pierre Fossto (Greenely, Sweden). He demonstrated how Pixii Home was integrated into Greenely’s FCR marketing model. Over 40 systems are already in regular operation in Scandinavia – with a positive balance in terms of grid stabilization and additional revenue sources for end customers.

Daniel Samuelsen from Norwegian DSO Hafslund then complemented the practical focus from a grid operator perspective. His presentation showed how Pixii systems are used for grid support, voltage stability and peak shaving in urban power grids.

In the subsequent Pixii Partner Workshop, participants discussed common challenges and success factors: from training via the Pixii Academy, forecasting and logistics processes to the requirements for standardized planning documents and regionally coordinated marketing strategies.

The day was rounded off with an outlook from Kjetil Rostoft Boysen, who presented new features in the Pixii Cloud Ecosystem – including alarm management, remote maintenance, data analysis and open interfaces to third-party providers.

The Pixii Partner Meeting 2025 impressively demonstrated how strongly technology, market understanding and partnership collaboration must interweave to bring decentralized energy storage to market successfully. Pixii delivers a strong, future-proof overall package. For us, it is clear: cooperation with Pixii will be deepened further – with concrete projects, technical training and strategic dialogue.
