Strategic alliance for the energy transition: SCHNEPF Planungsgruppe Energietechnik GmbH & Co. KG and wattss Group of Companies join forces for industrial energy storage solutions.
SCHNEPF Planungsgruppe Energietechnik GmbH & Co. KG and wattss AG announce their strategic partnership. The objective of the cooperation is to jointly develop and finance scalable, economically sound, and technologically leading energy storage solutions for industry, commerce, and public infrastructure. The focus is on large-scale battery storage and modular industrial storage systems, which are regarded as key technologies for the energy transition.
The partnership combines decades of experience in technical building services with innovative storage technology, system integration, and modern financing solutions. Together, the companies aim to set new standards in energy efficiency, grid stability, and decarbonization, as well as to accelerate the energy transition. And to create attractive, future-proof projects for qualified investors.
Investment in the future of energy supply
Industry and commerce increasingly face pressure to decarbonize their energy supply while simultaneously ensuring supply security and economic viability. Large-scale battery storage provides a central solution here: it enables temporary storage of excess solar or wind power, smoothing of peak loads (peak shaving), optimization of self-consumption, participation in the balancing energy market and electricity trading.

Technology meets implementation expertise
wattss brings deep expertise in the development and operation of stationary energy storage systems. Since 2019, wattss has realized several large-scale battery storage systems with power ratings of several hundred megawatts for Swiss investors. The company offers modular storage solutions with capacities up to the megawatt range that can be flexibly adapted to customer needs. This is complemented by intelligent control systems that enable optimal integration into existing energy systems with connections to medium-voltage and high-voltage grids.
SCHNEPF Planungsgruppe complements wattss with its comprehensive planning expertise in technical building services, energy supply, and building automation. The company is capable of providing holistic support for complex projects from conception through commissioning – including subsidy consulting and economic feasibility analyses.
First projects in preparation
Already in the second half of 2025, the first joint projects are to be realized in Germany. Planned are storage solutions for industrial parks, logistics centres, telecommunications providers, and municipal energy suppliers. The partners expect investment volumes in the hundreds of millions in the coming years. The companies are focusing on European solutions with the highest demands on cybersecurity, reliability, and availability.
