The film series “Films for the Mountains”, a joint project by Mountain Wilderness Switzerland and Films for the Earth, uses the power of film to raise awareness about the beauty of pristine mountain landscapes and the threats they face.
Films for the Earth is an international competence centre for environmental documentary films and consists of two non-profit environmental education associations in Switzerland and Germany as well as the International Films for the Earth Foundation. The goal is to inspire, inform, raise awareness and motivate as many people as possible to act for environmental and climate protection through carefully selected films. The focus is on films that show the impact of humans on our Earth, promote appreciation for nature, and offer solutions and options for action.
In “The Monster in our Closet”, for example, a critical examination of the outdoor industry and its impact on the environment is addressed. Is sustainable mountain sports possible? The film not only highlights problems but also offers solutions for a greener future.
