wattss and Croatia: innovative battery storage solutions across borders
Progress often begins quietly – with a dialogue, an idea, an open ear. What can emerge from it is shown by our most recent meeting with Consul General Slobodan Mikac in Frauenfeld. It was more than a courtesy visit, it was the beginning of a dialogue about cross-border cooperation, innovation and the energy supply of the future.
An encounter with impact: wattss and Croatia in dialogue
At the wattss headquarters, Marco Rüegg (CEO) and Marcel Thoutberger (Sales Manager) welcomed the Croatian Consul General for an intensive exchange of ideas. The focus was on shared interests around sustainable energy supply, technology exports, regulatory framework conditions and future opportunities for both countries.
wattss presented not only its modular battery storage solutions “Made in Europe”, but also the strategic vision behind it, such as:
- decentralized use of renewable energy sources
- resilient energy systems at local level
- long-term investments in economically growing regions – like Croatia
For us, Croatia is exemplary of a new European dynamism in the energy sector with a government with ambitions for CO₂ reduction, with strong EU funding programmes in the infrastructure sector and last but not least a growing awareness in the population for energy independence and sustainability.
Especially in regions with high solar radiation and growing demand for grid-stabilizing solutions, we see enormous potential – for private households as well as for business, industry or public institutions.
The discussions with Consul General Mikac were characterized by great mutual interest, respect and the common goal of initiating sustainable energy projects between Switzerland and Croatia. Personal exchange builds trust – and opens paths that have long been exhausted in traditional markets. The future of energy supply is not decided somewhere – it is created where people network, learn from each other and shape together.
